Eaton’s Industrial division is currently seeking a Assembler on 1st shift to join our team. The position is based at our Searcy, AR facility. Position Overview: Assembly Technician primary function is to assemble valves according to customers requirements, be responsible for due dates of customer orders to meet plant measurements (service level, productivity, scrap and first pass yield). In this function you will: Assemble and erect precision assemblies and sub-assemblies having close tolerances and critical operating requirements where fitting, alignment and adjustment of components, units and completed assembly are critical. Work from detailed assembly drawings and specifications. Requires a high degree of skill and a broad knowledge of mechanical principles and assembly techniques. Inspect parts for proper machining finish and dimensions, check and test sub-assemblies and units. Do fitting, adjusting, calibrating and aligning to insure free action and movement of parts, tolerance fits and operating requirements. Air test valves before final test and assists in packing out completed valves, coordinates build ticket number with valves to be shipped in shipping department. May be assigned to manually inspect, clean and deburr both interior and exterior of valve bodies and covers by utilizing hand tools to remove particles from inside the valve body. May be assigned to prepare and apply paint according to prescribed methods. Each employee must follow all safety rules, report all accidents or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately and wear all required personal protective equipment. Each employee is responsible for the housekeeping of his/her work area and should maintain these areas to the highest degree possible. Attendance and punctuality is required. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Searcy will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: Six (6) – twelve (12) months general assembly experience to become familiar with methods, parts, products, tools and equipment used and to attain dexterity and proficiency requirement. Position Criteria: Must be able to work from detailed assembly drawings and specifications. Use precision measuring instruments, testing devices and equipment to check parts, unit, fits and operating requirements. Use hand and bench power tools, torsion wrenches, forming jigs and assembly fixtures. Ability to read blueprints and bill of materials. Coordinate short parts with planner.
