Job Description
Eaton is currently seeking a Assembler to join our team. This position is based at our Edmonton, CA facility. Under the guidance of the Wiring Team Lead and reporting to the Production Manager, the Electrical Assembler is responsible for wiring of all electrical switchgear and assemblies as well as installation and wiring of all electrical controls. The assembler will interpret manufacturing information documents in order to ensure compliance to Quality standards and make the necessary adjustments in order to meet those standards, as well as meeting the expectation of Eaton’s High 5 areas of focus: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity. Position Overview : Review and interpret drawings. Wire complex assemblies using drawings, schematics and process plans. Use various fixtures, gauges, and wiring tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product. Install components and modify as necessary. Perform in-process inspections, as required, to ensure compliance to Quality standards and make necessary adjustments in order to meet quality standards. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the internal materials replenishment system. Actively support EPC Safety, 5S, and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Maintain work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner, including the return of tools to designated areas. Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limiting to assisting mechanical team and FAB when necessary. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Completion of High School or GED equivalent is required at a minimum. Diploma in electrical engineering considered an asset. 1 year of experience in the assembly or repair of product in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience in testing electrical control assemblies considered an asset. This position does not offer relocation. Candidate must live within 80km of Edmonton, AB. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship. Perferred Experience: Forklift/overhead crane certification considered an asset. Position Criteria: Working knowledge of the mechanical or electrical processes within a manufacturing facility is ideal. Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools. Effective communicator and interpersonal skills, including excellent oral, written communication, and listening skills. Ability to work independently and multitask, as well as in a team environment. Demonstrates continuous learning through cross-training, learning new skills, and refreshing prior skills. Good analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Promote and assist in the effective implementation of Eaton’s Safety programs and processes.
