Air Dry Co. of America, is a California based company whose primary products are air and gas dehydration and purification systems and associated air handling components such as high-pressure air reducing manifolds, dew point monitors, and gauge valves. Air Dry furnishes high and low pressure dehydration systems for virtually all the shipbuilding programs of the united states Navy, including the Trident strategic missile submarines, the Los Angeles class attack submarines, the Nimitz class aircraft carriers, the Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer, and a Perry class guided missile frigates. This opportunity has a competitive starting rate of $20/hr Job Summary Perform assembly, calibration and test operations for product used in commercial and military applications. Skills include the ability to assemble electronic, electric, pneumatic and mechanical assemblies, work with hand tools, crimpers and soldering irons, as well as having the skills and experience to test items to Acceptance Test Procedures and to troubleshoot electronic, electric, pneumatic and mechanical devices to resolve problems down to component levels on production and returned hardware. The assembler/technician will be a dynamic, self-motivated individual who can quickly become a contributor of a multi-disciplined development team. Activities will include collaborating in development of high performance pneumatic assemblies for new programs as well as sustainment activities for existing products to address obsolescence, cost reduction activities, 5S, cleaning and organizing, inventory management, planning and production control, job scheduling, quality inspections, packaging. Qualifications Responsibilities Key responsibilities: Performs complex assembly and testing of various electronic, electric, pneumatic and mechanical devices Works under moderate supervision to meet critical specifications Participate in failure analysis for customer returns Conduct prototype and engineering tests for design verification Implement initiatives to improve production efficiency including 5S activities Maintains product manufacturing documentation Troubleshoot to find and correct root cause issues Inspection, test, validation and certification Planning, scheduling, job order release and management Inventory management and material handling Education and Previous Experience Requirements High School or equivalent Training or experience in electronics or electric circuits a plus Experience with hand tools, crimpers and soldering irons. Strong, precision assembly skills required Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, high product mix environment Ability to read, understand and follow drawings, work instructions, test procedures Basic computer skills required Understanding of basic configuration management Good communication and documentation skills Highly detail quality oriented individual with a self-motivated work ethic Avionics/aerospace design experience is preferred High ability to follow safety rules and procedures Able to lift weights as allowed by company safety policy Competencies A demonstrated ability in the Souriau - Sunbank competencies required for all employees: customer focus, ethics & values, long-term problem solving, integrity & trust, functional/technical skills, listening, action-oriented, composure, values diversity.
