Eaton’s Electrical Sector - Canada is currently seeking 1 Assembly Coordinator position in EPC (Edmonton Power Centre) to join our team. This position is based at our Edmonton, AB location. Position Overview: Reporting to a Production Manager, the Assembly Coordinator is responsible for coordinating shop floor workflow, ensuring delivery schedules are met, providing guidance on production methods, procedures, processes, and assigning duties. Lead by example in areas such as safety, ethical standards, attendance, intensity, sense of urgency, team philosophy, initiative, quality assurance, standard work, 5S+, product knowledge, positive attitude, interpersonal communication skills, and professional presence. In this function you will: Maintained effective intra/inter departmental communications. Established, monitored, and sustained active communications between all levels of plant personnel to assure a positive work environment. Developed and implemented cost-out, productivity improvement and strategic manufacturing programs consistent with plant objectives. Analyzed department capacity restrictions and developed alternative plans to improve methods and layouts, as well as recommended new equipment expenditures to align capacity with plant objectives. Supported HI5 metrics for key business drivers through learning and engagement throughout the assembly operation team. Implemented process improvement, cost reduction and quality improvement processes in conjunction with the Eaton Business System (EBS). Maintained departmental tooling and equipment, including the provision of new/replacement hand tools etc. Ensured hardware and tooling inventories are monitored. Managed department manpower and capacity planning. Communicated and enforced product quality standards and reviewed team/individual quality performance through the analysis of relevant data and metrics. Provided on-going mentoring, coaching and development of direct reports to instill a team-focused and quality culture within the department. Pursue and implement the Eaton Value and Philosophy Statements Adhere to ISO9001:2015/EQS quality procedure/work instructions and actively participate in the quality improvement process Maintain a positive commitment to the prevention of pollution and protection of the environment fulfilling environmental health and safety responsibilities as outlined in the safety (MESH) program Maintain a positive commitment to the safety of self and others identifying and reporting any hazard(s) in the workplace using the Hazard Identification Form; reporting any near misses, incidents, injuries, events resulting in lost-time, or occupational diseases immediately; using equipment, materials, and machinery only as authorized, and for which training has been successfully completed; following procedures and wearing personal protective equipment as required Act as a positive role model and support change actively participating in the implementation of the ELSS (Eaton Lean Six Sigma) tools, providing guidance and/or mentoring to less experienced co-workers Participate in the Cost Improvement Program looking for, discussing, and recommending better ways to do things Meet daily production targets maintaining production flow, recording jobs completed and reporting issues preventing compliance Monitor and check In Process Check List, Action List, 5S and Gemba walk When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Completion of a Post-Secondary or a Vocational program OR, Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. 2 plus years manufacturing experience 2 plus years or being able to interpret electrical drawings Preferred qualifications: 5+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment Position Criteria: Reading, comprehension, product knowledge and mathematical skills Good computer skills Knowledge/experience with hand and power tools Effective communication/interpersonal skills Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision Demonstrates continuous learning through cross training, learning new skills and refreshing prior skills No Sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship. No Relocation.
