Job Description

In this position, you will be responsible for managing a group of engineers. Your role will be to develop and grow your team to meet equipment performance goals. Assuring safety and product quality of your area, while driving to meet your tool sets critical success indicators that include availability, cost, and product readiness.

As an Area Engineering Manager, your responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Must be customer obsessed, understand the specific biz unit needs, adapt and responding quickly to the changes and requirements.
  • Must build strong collaboration and trust with peers across the network, biz units, technology development, sites and relevant business partners.
  • Must have passion in developing people and promoting diversity in the group to make the factory a Work Place of Choice with a productive culture and diverse inclusive environment.
  • Be a technical expert in the area in charge, mentor in the structured problem solving, providing technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Responsible for ensuring continuous improvement in productivity and cost through excellence.
  • Driving your areas critical indicators enablement (availability, yield, cost).


Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Licentiate Degree in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Environment, Production, and/or Equipment Development.
  • 3+ years of Experience managing teams that accomplish operational and technical objectives through continuous improvement.
  • Advanced English Level.
  • Unrestricted Costa Rican work permit.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Experience in Manager Positions (Process Engineering and Manufacturing environment).
  • Experience with Data Analysis and LEAN practices.
  • Solid Structure Problem Solving skills.
  • Knowledge of thermal dispensing and high precision pick place equipment in Assembly production lines.
  • Transfer of Technology from Technology Development to Production.
