Job Overview:
Maintains, improves, and optimizes process manufacturing environments. Develops innovative solutions and new approaches to engineering problems to determine the sequence of steps or processes required to fabricate and assemble products that meet the organization’s standards of quality and cost
 
Responsibilities:
- Determines the sequence of processes required to fabricate and assemble products that meet organizations standards of quality and cost
- Develops recommendations for changes to working methods or operation sequences that will minimize risks, costs, and wastage; increase yields and productivity; and improve the quality and consistency of final products
- Analyzes product specifications, parts, drawings, and data to develop new production processes, estimate time requirements for each step, and prepare operation sheets
- Analyzes more complex product specifications, parts drawings, and other engineering data to develop new production processes, estimate time requirements for each step, and prepares operation sheets.
- Investigates complex non-routine process and product issues and implement effective solutions by applying standard techniques and procedures
- Initiates continuous improvement projects that will minimize risks and costs and improve productivity, quality and consistency of products
- Performs process capability studies and audits as required to maintain highest level of product quality
- Plans and prepares for product changes and their impact on production processes
- Coach and mentor less experienced engineers, check the quality of their work, and help them resolve problems
- Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
- Will perform other duties as assigned
- Technical understanding
- High skill and knowledge of lean production systems.
- Independent working.
- Good coordination, communication, and presentation skills
- Very confidant with computer programs (e.g. windows, office) 
- Implement adjustments or modify technical tightening solutions/methods on the assembly line due to changes communicated through the Daimler Design department.
- Ensure the technical line capacity and equipment availability for the serial assembly process
- Expertise in daily tightening support for production and QS as required. 
- Continuously strive to improve standard KPI values.
- Create of torque reports in combination of process release and presentation. 

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant degree required*.
- Experience in Mechanical Engineering or other automotive related fields
- Professional skills/competence in engineering specifically production technology, automotive technology.
- Experience in dealing with tightening technology.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
 
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
 
More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
