Job Description
Eaton's Electrical Division is seeking an Assembly Supervisor- 1st Shift for the facility located in Roanoke, Virginia. 1st shift: 5:00 am- 1:30pm Position Overview This Supervisor will develop, direct and coordinate Assembly team members to deliver continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, business systems and process standardization to meet customer demands in the most cost effective manner. Additionally, the Supervisor will be responsible for fostering an environment which promotes Eaton's goals, values and philosophies in every business aspect. The Supervisor will work with cross-functional teams members to ensure all department deliverables are met and are sustainable. In this function you will: Improve knowledge base of the team by cross training and ensuring job satisfaction of the team is a priority. Drive Zero Incident Safety culture in the facility by being a safety champion and leading safety communications. Conduct appropriate training and area audits to ensure that safe work practices are consistently and constantly employed throughout the facility. Lead the elimination of safety hazards. Lead the 5S program and implement cycles of improvement Lead the team member engagement culture and reward and recognition programs. Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement. Reduce cost of operations by facilitating the implementation of lean manufacturing concepts, cost reductions, and continuous improvements. Partner with CI resources to host RIE or Kaizen events as necessary to achieve best in class operations. Participate as an active member of the leadership team, supporting and participating in site activities and programs. Participate in daily Gemba meeting while actively joining in constructive conversations to improve operations and engaging all levels of team members in the Gemba. Champion wellness by leading daily stretching and ergonomics programs Manage the daily schedule, issues, needs, and align staffing to optimize productivity and output Clearly communicate expectations and consistently hold self and team members accountable for performance. Assume personal accountability for achieving targets despite a challenging environment. Manage the performance and development of direct reports. Effectively and swiftly recognize, coach, counsel and correct team member to support/maintain Eaton’s Values and Philosophy. Utilize leadership skills & techniques that support high levels of satisfaction, productivity and quality Provide support to your team by ensuring timely answers to questions or by steering them to the appropriate information sources, and by providing a workplace where associates can grow and develop. Interview and select new members for your team and assure that new or transferred associates are adequately trained to meet the requirements of their position. Manage the team's time and attendance, while implementing measures to maximize productivity and minimize overtime spend. Why work at Eaton? Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required Minimum of 3 years of assembly, manufacturing, or production experience Minimum 1 year leadership experience required No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Roanoke, VA to be considered. Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications Lean / six sigma experience SAP knowledge Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Position Criteria Ability to foster an environment of engagement and inclusion and team building for all team members.
