Job Description
Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently recruiting for an Assembly/Test Lead on 1st shift to join our team. The hourly rate for this position is $32.00 The position is based at our Irvine, CA location. The team lead will be responsible for overseeing Airframe Assembly and Test departments, and support other functions as needed to successfully meet customer delivery dates. Plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities of Assembly and Test Areas. Provides training and direction to all technicians within both of these departments to ensure all elements of manufacturing are being followed, and executed to expectations with safety in mind, meeting quality requirements and in the most efficient manner to meet company goals and each individual’s objectives. Essential Functions: · Oversee and control the day-to-day activities of assembly and test technicians · Drive productivity within the departments · Schedule work for the departments and assign daily work for all technicians following customer demands per MRP. · Coordinate and complete training of new and / or legacy processes and products. · Ensure assembly and test technicians perform their tasks following verbal and written instructions, which include the use of; blueprints, sketches, specifications and schematics. · Work closely with Engineering on new product and processes to identify capability gaps, and assist to develop work instructions, the design of tools / fixtures needed to support production. · Monitor and verify all assembly and test equipment is up to date within calibration requirements, in good working condition and can produce quality product. · Assist Engineering and technicians with trouble shooting assembly malfunctions or test failures. · Support the implementation of corrective actions related to safety and quality. · Support cross functional training to promote within, also the interviewing and hiring process. · Responsible for requesting equipment and supplies needed to support these departments. · Ensure all regulations are being followed, including proper use of PPE and the operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. · Make sure manufacturing areas are kept clean, organized and neat per 5S values. · Support continuous improvement events and the execution of new initiatives. · Responsible for making sure assembly and test skills / technology are up to date, to support new aerospace platforms. · Track and support the High Five objectives (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity), to improve positive drifts and reduce negative downfalls to reach site goals. · Back up for department supervisor / manager Must be able to work overtime, split shifts and / or weekends when needed · Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS · High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution · Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the assembly and test of Fuel, Hydraulic and / or Pneumatic products. · Minimum of five (5) years’ experience leading, guiding and developing direct reports · Ability to read, write and speak fluent English · Good communication skills · Team building skills · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
