Job Description
The Business Function
The Hong Kong Product Administration (HK PA) team implement and oversea critical tasks for the Hong Kong Unit Trusts. Coordinating across the APAC region (China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Australia and Korea) and acting as a point of communication with EMEA and the US on both the Hong Kong Unit Trusts and other JPMorgan funds sold in the APAC region.
Core responsibilities involve acting as a point of escalation on fund related matters that vary from day to day operational issues requiring immediate attention, such as fair valuing a fund holding. To implementing yearlong regulatory initiatives such as the current SFC Unit Trust Code of Conduct changes.
The HK PA team manage the three Trustee relationships that are in place to oversee the funds and ultimately protect the unit holders. This often requires detailed explanations on current issues or new initiatives as well as coordinating Trustee due diligence requirements.
The team maintains core responsibilities including Regulatory Compliance, Liquidity Risk Management tools, China Business, Financial Statements (Notes approval), Volcker, Legal Entity maintenance and error management responsibilities.
HK PA is a core function within JPMorgan Asset Management.
The team consists of 5 PA analysts, who are expected to develop a level of expertise in our funds, our organisation along with our obligations and commitments to regulators and ultimately the unit holders of our funds.
The Role
Product Administration VP
The role is to join the flat structured team and to share in the broad tasks described above.
With growing involvement in China we are looking for someone with Mandarin speaking skills at a conversation level.
There are opportunities to increase your knowledge and progress while on the job, in the asset management industry and specialising in a fascinating area of the Asset Management sector. The key characteristic is a can do attitude and willingness to get involved in a number of interesting areas in a demanding environment.
Ideally you will have a broad knowledge of the funds ranges covered, along with the principles and practicalities involved in producing a Unit Trust daily NAV along with the Trustee and regulatory rules to be complied with.
Key Responsibilities
- Trustee relationship management
- Ensure compliance with SFC and MPFA regulations as required
- Acting as a control function for funds within the AM space -
- Liaising with key internal (Compliance, Risk, Control Management) and external stakeholders
- Partner with other Asset Management teams on key initiatives
- Review and understand BAU Operational Model’s in-line with the strategic direction of the business
- Carry out/Facilitate Due Diligence
- Staying close to the Control functions to understand trend issues with the vendor
- Knowledge of current regulatory changes in the industry and the impact on Asset Management Companies
- Attending Service Review Meetings
- Reviewing and advising best practice on SLA’s and policy generally
Personal Profile
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the asset management industry
- Compliance, Risk, Audit, Product Development, Fund Accounting, Operations background would be helpful
- Can do attitude
- Mandarin speaking to conversational level
- Good people/Relationship Management experience essential
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Accounting qualifications would be advantageous
- Enjoys working as part of a Team player, as well as on their own
- Self driven with a flexible approach to different working environments
- Excellent co-ordination and time management skills
- Investment Regulatory knowledge
