The opportunity:

Due to internal promotion, we’re looking for an Assistant Accountant who is keen to join a busy and fast-paced role that will provide you support and mentorship with career progression. This is an important role in the Financial Reporting team, and you’ll support the month-end with quarterly and year-end reporting processes by ensuring financial information is prepared timely and has a high level of accuracy.

About the role:

  • Support compliance with AIA Group and local reporting requirements

  • Prepare assigned month-end / quarter-end journals and reports

  • Assist with preparing balance sheet reconciliation support

  • Deliver timely and accurate financial information for regular management & expense reporting, analysis, monitoring and control as required.

  • Assist in preparation of annual statutory financial statements and other ad hoc reporting outputs as required

  • Assist with preparation of regulatory and statistical returns as required

  • Assist Financial Reporting Manager and Finance team with year-end external audit, and internal audits.

About you:

  • You’ll ideally have started your CA qualifications

  • Have 3+ years of prior experience in an accounting role within a large corporate with high volume transactions

  • Intermediate to advance Excel skills

  • Exposure to SAP is valuable

  • Team focus, flexible ‘can do’ attitude, ability to meet deadlines. And most importantly, a team player and able to work within team and across departments in a professional manner
