Eaton Mission Systems, formally Cobham Mission Systems, is seeking an Assistant Business Manager at our growing Westminster, MD facility. This is a Hybrid-Remote role, Sponsorship is not available! Position Overview: The Assistant Business Manager will ensure accurate and appropriate preparation and submission of bids and contract proposals that often are very complex. They will compile technical, financial and other project data using database programs for inclusion in reports or presentation materials. They will support the Business Manager and IPT Director, and provide guidance to the Business Administrator(s). Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. In this function you will: Ensures accurate and appropriate preparation and submission of complex bid/contract proposals Solicitation/RFQ review and maintaining records Coordinates bids, contracts, and negotiations, including the management of risk profiles, bid assumptions, exceptions, and compliance Understands and utilizes program cost (labor and material) for both non-recurring development activities and recurring (per unit) pricing Compiles technical, financial, and other project data using database programs for inclusion in reports or presentation materials Understands of business case and economic conditions affecting proposals Prepares and presents bid approval forms to management team Provides inputs to internal financial metrics, including backlog and forecasts for bookings and sales revenue planning Interfaces with production personnel to plan shipment of hardware; resolves purchase order updates with customer Ensures bids, contracts, and shipments are in accordance with ITAR / Export Compliance Interfaces with Program Management and supports Life Cycle Management (LCM) procedures Compiles data into SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) Executive Report; capable of presenting to Senior Management as required Participates in yearly budget preparation, monitors and reports actual performance against the budget Responsible for ensuring that Environmental, Health, and Safety are included as part of everyday activities Other duties as assigned. When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution 2+ years of direct customer relations experience 2+ years of contracts negotiating experience Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee or Refugee. No relocation will be offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50 mile radius of the Westminster, MD facility will be considered for this position.
