Assistant Computer Officer (carrying the job title of ‘Manager of Information Technology Services (Application Development), SCS’)

The appointee will be responsible for (a) supervising the design and development of IT systems or solutions for the School; (b) providing user support and training on IT systems; (c) liaising with different users and contractors, and carrying out the implementation of IT projects; (d) supervising a team of IT developers; and (d) performing other duties as assigned.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines; (ii) at least 5 years of relevant work experience, and proven track record in development and support of IT systems, including hands-on experience in building web applications using PHP, Unix/Linux, Script, JavaScript, CSS, SQL Server Stored Procedure and Shell Script; (iii) knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, and Crystal Report (knowledge of Moodle, Java/J2EE and Weblogic will be an advantage); (iv) capability of leading multiple projects and a team of IT developers effectively; and (v) good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work as a good team member. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for written and/or computer skill test(s).
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
