Job Description

The Brisbane Airport Hotels Group encompasses the Pullman and ibis Brisbane Airport Hotels, as well as the Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. With 375 guest rooms, 2 restaurants, Rooftop Bar & Restaurant, Executive Lounge and 12 meeting spaces collectively totaling 1800m2. Located at the Brisbane Airport Domestic Terminal, it is the first accommodation and meeting and event space developed in this precinct.  

The Brisbane Airport Conference Centre boasts 13 conference and meeting rooms, including a 300 seat pillar-less ballroom, boardrooms, business centre, cloakroom and generous breakout terraces. This Centre will be capable of hosting up to 600 delegates at any one time. 

The Brisbane Airport Conference Centre is currently seeking a motivated full-time Assistant Conference Center Operations Manager to join our brilliant Conference Centre team.    

Your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Assisting the Conference Centre Operations Manager with day to day operations of all Conference Rooms
  • Maintain a constant focus on providing excellent guest experience at all times
  • Oversee the preparation, planning and execution of all designated events
  • Assist the Conference Centre Operations Manager in liaising with clients, assessing their needs, and developing operational strategies to meet those needs
  • Lead, mentor and train team members, ensuring a fun and energetic working environment.
  • Assist in recruitment and induction of new team members
  • Ensure that team members are briefed on all specials and standard menu items
  • Ensure cleaning and maintenance of outlets, work areas, tableware, utensils and other materials and equipment
  • Handle any escalated guest complaints

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a similar role and are looking to work in a larger operation OR a Team Leader or Supervisor ready for their next step
  • Previous experience within a Conference & Hotel environment is preferable, however not essential
  • Flexible to work variable shifts including early starts, weekends and public holidays
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction
  • A passion and working knowledge of latest food and wine trends
  • Hold a valid RSA
