OFFICE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, the Assistant Director of Information Technology (Application and Integration Services) is responsible for formulating the strategies and policies for the development of mission-critical information systems to cope with the vision and mission of the University. He/She will be a technical leader playing a significant role in evolving our ERP systems and the entire development team into a next-generation administrative system by implementing a micro service-based development strategy.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Director will:
- be responsible for Applications and Integrations, which include core business systems such as HR, Finance, Student Information System, and customize web and mobile application development;
- be responsible for the planning, design, development, implementation and support of major information systems and technologies in support of teaching, learning and research activities as well as the management and administrative operations of the University;
- provide the necessary leadership to ensure that best-practices are adhered to a right-fit model for the University;
- develop the staffing plan, including identifying, evaluating, and recommending the resources needed for the implementation, upgrades, support activities, and related projects;
- identify, evaluate, and supervise third-party vendors and consultants and prepare, negotiate, and monitor compliance of vendor and consultant contracts;
- work with the University’s Academic and Administrative units to develop and implement new IT solutions and services. The appointee will analyze the needs of departments and establishes priorities for feasibility studies, systems requirements, design and implementation to develop/modify the University’s information processing systems;
- build strong client relationships and aligns departmental priorities, strategies, and resources with the University’s mission and strategic goals; and
- take up other IT projects and assignments as directed.
Requirements
- a Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related discipline. A post-graduate degree in MBA is a plus;
- 10 years of progressive experience in information application systems and integration development support in a production environment;
- extensive experience in the management of large, complex information systems and projects;
- knowledge of administrative practices in a university environment is preferable;
- excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong leadership skills. The appointee must be a self-starter, highly committed with strong decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure; and
- ability to translate needs analysis data into formal designs, and strong organizational, supervisory, and interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with a wide variety of internal and external resources.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
