The Assistant Events Manager reports directly to the Events & Marketing Manager and will work closely with all the departments within the Chamber. This role will be responsible for organizing and executing a wide range of the Chamber’s events. The Assistant Events Manager will contribute to the team an all-rounded support to various signature events to support the business needs of the Chamber’s sponsors and members as well as raise the overall profile of the Chamber. S/he will also be the Person in-charge of some projects. The Chamber is a signatory to the Equal Opportunities Commission’s Racial Diversity and Inclusion Charter.
Detailed Summary of the Job

Detailed Summary of the Job
- Manage and organize multiple events, including the development and monitoring each event’s execution and budgetary plan, venue and sponsorship sourcing, stakeholder engagement, implementation and post-event assessment reporting.
- Work closely with the Executive Director, Membership and Communications teams to develop a coherent marketing strategy for the Chamber.
- Participate in regular internal progress meetings and circulate progress reports on activities against targets (e.g. growth projections, campaign effectiveness, etc.).
- Supervise and coach interns to assist with the successful planning and/or delivery of events.
- Liaise with both external and internal stakeholders to ensure client service excellence.
- Assist in formulating the yearly budget of the events team, overseeing the execution and be responsible for profit and loss outcome.
- Assist in strengthening the knowledge management framework for events planning within the Chamber.
- Act as the Chamber liaison for two interest committees within the Chamber, liaise with the organization’s interest committees by collaborating with the committee Chairs.
- Perform daily clerical and administrative work related to event planning and implementation.

Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in event management, marketing or other related disciplines
- Excellent English writing skills
- 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Previous experience in a member-based organization a plus but not required
- Fluent in English; (Cantonese and Mandarin a plus but not required)
- Excellent time management, able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
- Confidence and ability to interact with colleagues, speakers, vendors at all difference levels of seniority
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communications skills
- Open-minded, innovative, a good team player, detailed-oriented and is able to work under pressure
- Well organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic and independent
- Quick in absorbing and applying new knowledge
- Skilled in successfully navigating an inter-cultural and inter-generational working environment
- Able to work legally in Hong Kong.
- Able to start work immediately (preferred)
