Information Technology Services Center (ITSC) is responsible for developing and managing the IT infrastructure of the University, and championing the wise use of IT for learning, research and administration activities.

The Infrastructure Systems team of ITSC develops, implements and supports various IT infrastructures and systems including but not limited to the following: (1) private cloud infrastructure for hosting virtual servers and desktops; (2) on-premises and public cloud messaging infrastructure for communication and collaboration; (3) identity and access management system for computer accounts and systems; (4) Windows server clusters for enabling desktop computing environment; and (5) application server farms for hosting websites and applications.

The Infrastructure Systems team is looking for a high-caliber individual to fill the position of Assistant IT Specialist.  The appointee will be required to undertake IT system development and deployment including programming, testing, implementation and IT automation, provide ongoing support and maintenance such as incident follow-up, change management and system performance tuning, and develop system documentation and operational procedures.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or equivalent with at least two years of relevant work experience, preferably in system administration of Windows or Linux server and public cloud services. Knowledge in virtualization technologies such as VMware is preferred but not necessary as on-job training will be provided.  Work knowledge of modern scripting/programming languages and DevOps tools will be a plus.  Applicants should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.  They should be able to work under pressure and a good team player with self-initiatives. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
