Responsibilities: 

• To be responsible for data science analytics, implement advanced statistical models and approaches for application in the Authority’s complex issues, assist in building econometric and statistical models for various problems inclusive of projections, classification, clustering, pattern analysis, sampling, simulations, etc.

• To handle operation research, identify and define business problems, collect and organise information, examine information to figure out what is relevant to the problem and use statistical analysis or simulations to analyse information and develop practical solutions to business problems

• To support supervisor to communicate obstacles and findings to relevant stakeholders in an effort to improve decision making and drive business performance

• To take initiative to experiment with various technology and tools with vision of creating innovative data driven insights for the business at the quickest pace possible

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or any other related quantitative disciplines

• Minimum 5 years’ work experience with at least 2 years of practical experience working with business analysis/informatics, and business outcomes research within a fast-paced and complex business setting, preferably working as junior data scientist

• Essential work experience in probability, statistics, time-series analysis, or econometrics as well as experience in the use of machine learning methods, such as linear regression, correlation, statistical significance, cluster-analysis test design, regressions, and forecasting methodologies as well as substantial familiarity in Big Data and standardizing and A/B testing

• Experience of the Python programming language and substantial knowledge of Big Data platforms such as Hadoop

• Experience in Tableau or other visualization tools and able to create data presentations to users

• Experience in implementing successful data analysis or operation research solutions within a business

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, which will be necessary for the creation of both visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations, skills in MS-SQL server reporting services, analysis services, integration services, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
