Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join BEAM Society Limited (BSL) in the Technical Services (Development) team for the development and implementation of administrative and policy initiative for BEAM Plus assessment. Successful candidate will be responsible for development of BEAM Plus tools; review and refine administrative procedures and provision of technical support of the secretariat services to the Standing Committees of BSL.

Responsibilities

Report to: Manager of Technical Services

1) To assist the Manager to oversee the development and revision of BEAM Plus tools including tender preparation, liaison with internal and external stakeholders and manage the project progress and deliverables;

2) To take forward administrative and policy initiatives for BEAM Plus tools in accordance with the directives, policies, governance and ISO requirements of BSL;

3) To review and update the current administrative procedures and submit recommendations to management/stakeholders to improve operational effectiveness;

4) To assist the Manager in the provision of technical support of secretariat services to BSL’s Standing Committees and Task Forces;

5) To ensure the smooth operation of Committees and oversee the implementation of their decisions;

6) To liaise with Board of Directors, Committees, Task Forces and stakeholders on technical, procedural and policy matters;

7) To assist the Manager to establish fee schedules for different assessment tools, procedural mechanisms and payment to BEAM Assessors;

8) To provide administrative, policy and technical guidance/comment to Technical Team members in the process of BEAM Plus assessments;

9) To deputize the Manager in the supervision of project officers under Technical Services Department;

10) To supervise and provide training as well as coaching to subordinates; and

11) To perform ad­hoc duties as assigned by his/her supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

1) Degree related to Built Environment/ Architecture/ BS Engineering/ Environmental Engineering/ Sustainability or related discipline;

2) Minimum 7 years of solid experience in Built Environment/ Architecture /BS Engineering;

3) BEAM Plus or LEED project submission experience and project management skills. Possession of membership of recognized professional qualification e.g. BEAM Pro is preferable ;

4) Professional membership in architectural / engineering / construction / environmental / planning / surveying is a definite advantage;

5) A good team player with work ethics, especially in regard to integrity and confidentiality;

6) Self-driven, well-organized, good analytical power, strong coordinating ability and attentive to details;

7) Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact skillfully with internal and external stakeholders;

8) Proficiency in spoken and written English; and

9) Ability to handle multi-tasks and prioritize schedules, capacity to work under pressure with tight deadline.
