Job Description

Job Purpose:

The position is to assist the Manager (Volunteer Development) to plan, implement and coordinate the related initiatives and plans on Volunteer Management in order to promote greater action, engagement and support for volunteers at all levels in the Agency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day management and coordination of project activities and ensure a timely and quality deliverables of responsible projects
  • Manage the development and operation of Volunteer Development and Activity Centre
  • Monitor the quality of practice in programmes and operations by setting standards, targets, benchmarks in quality assurance and compliance
  • Coordinate with related parties for volunteer related training and workshops as well as award nomination on volunteers
  • Provide platform coordination and facilitation to strengthen volunteering such as Volunteer Development Support Team
  • Monitor the needs and practices of departments / units continuously and provide support and advise to develop efforts in relation to Volunteer Engagement
  • Monitor emerging models, trends and challenges facing volunteerism globally and explore relevance and impact for the HKRC and related stakeholders
  • Provide training to staff members / volunteers involved in Volunteer Management
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Volunteer Management System (VMS)

 

Requirements:

  • University Degree Holder, preferably in Social Science or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification working experience in social services, preferably in volunteer management
  • Sound coordination, interpersonal and networking skills
  • Mature, independent and able to work under pressure
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
  • Willing to work on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays as needed

 

Contract Period: 2 years
