Department of Applied Physics 

Assistant Marketing Officer (Ref. 20030501-E) 

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a) develop and implement initiatives to enhance the Department’s image as well as to promote the Department’s programmes and research achievements through traditional and online channels; 

(b) foster closer links with alumni, secondary schools and different partners, and organise activities and visits for them; 

(c) prepare promotional materials; 

(d) arrange media interviews, photo shoots and video recordings; 

(e) organise conferences, workshops and departmental activities; 

(f) handle alumni-related matters; 

(g) provide secretarial support to committees/meetings; and 

(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his delegates. 

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and/or on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays.

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a) have a recognised degree with at least three years of relevant post-qualification work experience; 

(b) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage; 

(c) be highly proficient in computer applications, e.g. Microsoft Office software (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel), Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.; 

(d) have good interpersonal, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills; 

(e) be a good team player; and 

(f) be able to work independently and highly self-motivated. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
