STANDARDIZED JOB DESCRIPTION: ASSISTANT GARMENT TECHNICAN

Reports to Team Leader

1. Communicating problems to the customers’ Technology team when processing the fit and PP sample and Shipment sample assessment

2. Assist supplier to rectify pattern, fitting and manufacturing issues

3. Responsible for correctly measuring, fitting and checking all fit and Red Seals samples prior to submission to customers

4. Adhering to all product specifications and performance standards during sample product preparation and assessment to ensure product quality in accordance with company standards

5. Ensuring that all appraisal reports are adhered to and completed correctly

6. Adhering that all office SOP’s

7. Liaising with the Merchandise team and Vendors

8. Pick up the potential problems at the earlier stage

9. Technical support to the Merchandise team facilitating adherence to the SOP’s for sample preparation and submission to customers

EXPERIENCE

3 years relevant technical knowledge in ladies, men’s and children underwear, outerwear & footwear. Product technology experience and exposure to international supplier bases.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION

A master degree or relevant Technical degree / qualification in Clothing Production or a related field

FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

A sound knowledge and understanding of the clothing industry, including: fabrics, patternmaking and fitting of garments, grading, garment construction and production, costing
