The mission of the Centre for English and Additional Languages (CEAL) at Lingnan University, a leading liberal arts institution in Asia, is to enhance the English language skills of Lingnan students and to provide language support to help students succeed in their academic studies and future careers. The Centre provides compulsory and elective English courses as well as organising a range of co-curricular language activities. CEAL also offers courses in additional languages such as Korean, Japanese, Spanish, and French.

The appointee will be required to: (i) maintain and manage students’ records and test results; (ii) interpret and analyze test results using SPSS and analytics software; (iii) collect feedback from stakeholders; (iv) prepare recommendation reports or other documents; and (v) perform other duties deemed appropriate by the Head of the Centre.

General Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in applied data science, statistics or a related discipline.

(Applicants with other backgrounds but having solid experience in language testing or quantitative analysis will also be considered.)

• Familiarity with statistical software such as SPSS.
• Good interpersonal skills are essential.
• Experience in administration, teaching or education-related settings is desirable.

Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be normally made on a contract of up to one year. Applications for part-time appointment are also considered.
