Job Description

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT OFFICE
 
Assistant Security Manager (Ref. 20092107-IE)
[to be appointed at the substantive level of Assistant Facilities Manager]
 
Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a) assist the Director of Facilities Management and/or his delegates to take care of security-related operations and provision of guarding services to the University;

(b) assist in accessing risks and implementing plans to mitigate risks for the stakeholders, operation and assets of the University;

(c) assist in compiling appropriate measures for crisis management and emergency preparedness for critical incidents;

(d) assist in formulating security measures, actions and recovery plans;

(e) provide proactive support to handle emergency incidents and implement the crisis management procedures;

(f) oversee the daily operation of the 24-hour/7-day Campus Control Centre (CCC) to provide round-the-clock services;

(g) provide an effective leadership and guidance to the officers/supervisors/operating staff of the CCC and provision of security guarding services;

(h) provide cross functional support to event organisers of the University’s major events and activities;

(i) perform shift duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary; and

(j) handle any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should have: 

(a) a recognised degree in Facility Management, Security Management, Property Management or a related discipline;


(b) at least five years of relevant experience in risk management and facilities management preferably in tertiary institution, including safety and security management, crowd control, etc.;

(c) supervisory experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and operational staff in collaboration with clients, service contractors and other stakeholders; and

(d) an excellent communication, supervisory and interpersonal skills.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
