Job Summary
  • The Assistant Shift Manager is responsible for shift operations and staff welfare and must work very closely with the Shift Manager on shift
  • To monitor all activities on shift carried out by the Executive Hosts and Hosts to ensure the effective and profitable objectives are achieved and Galaxy StarWorld standards are maintained
  • To act in the capacity of Shift Manager when the need arises

Responsibilities
  • Report to Shift Manager – Horizon (Table)as priority and to Manager–Mass Gaming Host if Shift Manager - Mass Gaming Host is un-contactable
  • Build strong customer service skills and create harmonious staff relationships within the department and with other departments
  • Ensure Executive Hosts and Hosts provide a consistent high level of customer service that exceeds customer’s expectations through anticipation, attentiveness and responding to customer’s needs and problems with urgency and at the same time displaying friendliness and courtesy
  • Provide training and counseling the Executive Hosts and Hosts and handle appropriate disciplinary actions after consultation with Shift Manager or Manager.
  • Oversee, give support and provide Operational information to Executive Hosts and Hosts
  • Report to superiors if any problem or any urgent situation has occurred
  • Work very closely with the Shift Manager to facilitate and provide Operational and general information for team knowledge.
  • Handle Gaming Disputes and / or assist Shift Manager in handling disputes
  • Show initiative and share ideas for operational improvements, enhancement of customer service level, procedural adjustments and staff motivation
  • Coordinate paper works and reports are accurate and submitted timely by the Executive Host.
  • Conduct in-coming shift briefings and out-going debriefings to convey and relate new operational, review of shift incident or any new instructions to the Executive Host and hosts
  • Maintain professional, respectful and close communications with all team members from within the department and all other departments.
  • Maintain a high levels of competency of all team members by recommending and suggesting appropriate training needs for the Executive Hosts and Hosts
  • Facilitate on the job training for new employees
  • Setting and achieving the highest goals or standards of performance for self, colleagues and the organization

Requirements

  • Diploma holder or with relevant working experience
  • Experience in casino industry in Macau.
  • Communicate very closely with Shift Manager and colleagues
  • Ability to operate and work on varied shift independently including night shift, weekends and public holidays but keeping in close communication with Shift Manager or Manager
  • Displays a high level of commitment to customer service.
  • Is a team player who motivates others to work effectively within the team.
  • Achieves agreed business objective and accepts accountability for results.
  • Adopts and implements new approaches and practices to meet changing circumstances.
  • Proficient in computer systems and skills including MS Word & Excel
  • Strong written and verbal English, Cantonese and Putonghua language skills are essential (Ability to speak other foreign languages and dialects would be preferred)
