Job Description

The Assistant Shipper is responsible for packaging, labeling, preparing, and loading shipments of customer orders while working under the direction of the Sr. Shippers and Logistics Coordinator. This position will assist in all warehouse activities and must have the ability to gain a broad knowledge in all operations within the department, while following written policies and procedures.

Duties included but are not limited to:

• Ensuring that Albemarle’s safety policies and procedures are followed
• Measurement of product bins
• Initiate product transfers according to packaging needs and bin levels
• Packaging of Lithium Carbonate including accurate reading of scales
• Loading shipments into dry vans and export containers
• Minor trouble shooting and required adjustments of packaging equipment
• Basic operation of the Milled Carbonate system
• Perform general housekeeping in the Warehouse and Milled Carbonate area
• Receiving and inspection of inbound freight
• Other duties as assigned by Logistics Coordinator

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to lift 55 Lbs. repetitively throughout the day
• Ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions
• Basic knowledge of scale operations
• Basic knowledge of packaging and shipping equipment
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and become certified
