Reporting directly to the Spa Manager, the successful incumbent is responsible to assist the Spa management with the day to day smooth running of the Spa, whilst maintaining the quality and standards of the Westin Cape Town Hotel in accordance with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Policies and Procedures within a pressurized environment.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory or head therapist role
A minimum of 2 years therapist experience in a 5 star spa environment
A recognised international spa qualification e.g. CIDESCO, ITEC or SAAHSP
Effective business partnering with stakeholders, management and associates
Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate in all MS office applications e.g. word, excel, power point.
Knowledgeable in spa booking software
Good planning and organizing skills to meet deadlines
Effective communication, problem solving, decision making and conflict management skills
Good administration skills – payroll input, staff rostering, inventory control, ordering, training
Ability to work within a pressurized environment
Ability to use Initiative and be proactive and self driven
Experience in IR management and disciplinary processes advantageous
Ability to work without supervision and within a team
Attention to detail pertaining to area of responsibility
Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as per company standards
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Assist the Spa Manager by ensuring the highest standards of service in the Spa is maintained and developed at all times
Assist in marketing of the spa and revenue generation
Effectively co-ordinate and supervise the operations of the Spa as deemed necessary
Address and resolve both guest and staff concerns.
Assist with the Management of the Spa associates
Work in accordance to the internal and external control procedures
Assist with Stock take
Issuing out Stock to therapist on a daily and weekly basis
Maintain duty rosters
Place daily orders e.g. fruit, guest amenities
Assist at the Reception Desk and perform treatments from time to time
Taking Group bookings
Checking treatments rooms during the day and end of shift
Follow up on Maintenance issues
Ensuring that staff follow the correct policies and procedures of the Spa
