Job Description

OFFICE OF THE VICE-PRESIDENT (RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT)

Reporting directly to the Vice-President (Research and Development) (VPRD), this is a role at managerial level. The appointee is expected to provide executive support, which includes servicing university-wide committees; writing reports, proposals, speeches and correspondences; liaising with internal teaching/administrative departments/offices and external bodies; planning and conducting projects as assigned. Moreover, he/she will assist the VPRD in formulation of strategies and policies, administration of research and development, financial management, coordination of offices under the VPRD, and establishing effective links between the University and the community/industry.

Applicants should have a good honours degree and preferably a postgraduate qualification with solid administrative experience in the tertiary education sector. They should have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua), good interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in computing applications. Strong analytical abilities, a perceptive mind and a mature personality are all desirable.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test. Those who had submitted application in October 2019 / February 2020 need not re-apply.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
