FINANCE OFFICE
Associate Accountant (Ref. 20052215-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be assigned to the Accounting Operations Section of the Finance Office and be responsible for the following duties:
(a) perform staff cost analysis and projection for the management and funding bodies;
(b) support the review work and outline the financial implications on pay level and adjustment review for Council’s decision;
(c) supervise the daily operations of payroll and benefits, staff claims and related payments of the University and its subsidiaries such as verifying payments and related tax filing, and ensuring compliance with relevant statutory requirements, policies and regulations;
(d) handle general office administration; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines;
(b) have a professional accounting qualification or equivalent;
(c) have at least two years of post-qualification experience in accounting, auditing or other related fields, with experience in payroll operations and staff claims being an advantage;
(d) have preferably passed a professional accounting examination or equivalent;
(e) have proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
(f) be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(g) have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
