Group Technology enables the organisation to achieve its strategic direction whilst driving shareholder value. The division establishes common standards and IT governance across the business. It further develops and manages core applications enabling smooth operational running of the organisation across all functions. We drive and deliver future roadmaps aligned to the overall strategic direction of the business. Group Technology support services to over 7500 end users across the globe, manage the information security operation and safeguard all our assets. Our core Group Technology functions include Technical Architecture, Network & Voice, IT Security, Service Delivery, Solutions Delivery and Asset Management.  Group Technology has a global presence across all regions with over 200 staff.

Job Purpose

The Associate BI Analyst is a critical role within RWS Group Technology as the organization moves towards being more data and analytics driven. This change in organisational construct is driving the need to review, rationalize and refine the currently diverse operating models within the two organisations. You will be responsible for helping define and govern the group data model, global data catalogue and meta data management strategy.

You will grow to be seen as a trusted advisor on behalf of data across the organisation with development operations, business applications and IT.

The role is office based in the RWS Maidenhead office, though flexibility will be available once you are established in the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with the team to design and maintain our group data model in line with our long-term business objectives.
• Working with the team to develop data management projects that move the company closer to its future goals.
• Working with the team to help design our data infrastructure and architecture that supports complex analytics services.
• Growing to provide technical leadership and direction for the companies engineering team
• Taking joint ownership of the definition and governance of the Enterprise Data Model, Data Architecture, Data Catalogue, Meta Data Management and related capabilities for the newly combined business entity.
• Working with the team to drive the creation and implementation of data governance policies, processes and standards.
• Advise on the duplications & conflicts within the data models of the RWS Group (originating from the different entities) and identify practical solutions for aligning the data models.
• Support the alignment of data governance across the combined organisation and enforce through solution reviews and audits.
• Provide guidance as to how data quality and meta data management should be embedded in business processes & systems.
• Building effective relationships with senior technical staff so there is a common understanding of goals and challenges.

Skills & Experience

• BSc. / MSc. / Ph.D. in Computer science or quantitative field.
• Strategic mind-set with the ability to focus on the “bigger picture”.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including comfort presenting findings at a leadership level.
• Excellent commercial and business acumen and interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
