Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are now looking for an Associate (Capital Market) in Corporate, based in either Hong Kong, Shanghai or Beijing.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducting brief or somewhat more complex research, depending on client needs
  • Managing deal teams and processes from initial discussions through closing and post-closing matters
  • Primary point of contact for clients, opposing counsel and other transactional legal teams
  • Assisting clients with ongoing deal administration
  • Managing and conducting due diligence
  • Providing direct assistance to senior lawyers on matters arising in the course of day-to-day to service domestic/international clients
  • Attending and presenting educational seminars
  • Exercising good judgment in internal and external written and verbal communications
  • Attend continuing education classes and contribute to client development initiatives
ABOUT YOU
  • PQE 2-4 years' experience in US capital markets area through working on either USIPOs or HKIPOs gained from a US or international law firm in HK or mainland
  • US bar, JD or LLM degree is preferable
  • Commercially astute and stays current on key legal and business news
  • Excellent skills in communication, client relations, and team-working
  • Able to work flexibly to tight deadlines within our fast moving environment
  • Contributes to marketing and business development initiatives
