Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are now looking for an Associate (Capital Market) in Corporate, based in either Hong Kong, Shanghai or Beijing.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting brief or somewhat more complex research, depending on client needs
- Managing deal teams and processes from initial discussions through closing and post-closing matters
- Primary point of contact for clients, opposing counsel and other transactional legal teams
- Assisting clients with ongoing deal administration
- Managing and conducting due diligence
- Providing direct assistance to senior lawyers on matters arising in the course of day-to-day to service domestic/international clients
- Attending and presenting educational seminars
- Exercising good judgment in internal and external written and verbal communications
- Attend continuing education classes and contribute to client development initiatives
ABOUT YOU
- PQE 2-4 years' experience in US capital markets area through working on either USIPOs or HKIPOs gained from a US or international law firm in HK or mainland
- US bar, JD or LLM degree is preferable
- Commercially astute and stays current on key legal and business news
- Excellent skills in communication, client relations, and team-working
- Able to work flexibly to tight deadlines within our fast moving environment
- Contributes to marketing and business development initiatives
