Job purpose and objectives: This role touches following aspects of accounting/tax: Statutory accounts, Month end closing, Tax related topics,, monitoring and fixed assets control plus other ad hoc projects as required. Contribute to the optimal and efficient working of the Controlling department by driving accounting/tax processes with a strong attention to detail and deadlines in collaboration with the internal & external stakeholders. The associate controller will be responsible for managing a team of 2 purchase to pay employees. Key interfaces Internal - Controller - Finance Director - Management Assistants - Conciergerie (Purchase to Pay Team) - FP&A Team - IBM - BPO - Finance Shared Service Team (FSS) External - External Auditor - Public authorities Responsibilities The Assistant Controller is a leadership position that manages the Concierge/Purchase to Pay team of 2 employees while collaborating with site Accounting Shared Service team and COE’s. The position reports to the Controller. Key responsibilities are: Support Controller on: Actions with FSS (Finance Shared Services) & COE’s (Center of Excellence): Closing reviews (account & B/S recommendations, pre/post-reports review/analysis, prepare adjusting entries: JE/B/S, …) & request SAP adjustmeents (provision, correction, …) Analysing COE’s recommendations KPI’s reviews for P2P processes Submit the monthly/quarterly reporting Tax related tasks (Corporate Income Tax,Transfer Price agreements, …) Prepare entity related planning & reporting requirements: Coordination with FSS, external auditors for statutory reporting; Internal planning & analysis, preparation for work-counsels when requested; Overall monitoring (incl. Quarterly OEC testing) and process improvement Fixed Asset local management Management, coordination & development of the PTP team composed of the Transparency & PTP Senior Analyst and the PTP Analyst Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of standards and processes for project management, quality management and risk management (internal controls) Conducting ad-hoc analysis and supporting finance Controller on requests coming from multiple stakeholders Qualifications Required skills and competencies Integrity: emphasizes the corporate values of integrity and trust, internally as well as externally Adaptability: switches quickly from one task to another without losing efficiency Time management skills, well-organized with ability to prioritize Able to work autonomously in a collaborative way, oa with shared services teams Initiative, self-starter: sees easily opportunities and takes ownership of implementing adequate actions Strong analytical skills and loves to work with data Committed to detailed financial reporting, willing to take ownership and problem-solving ability Innovation: explores alternative successful ways of working, processes and tools Dynamic, motivated team player with a hands-on and result oriented attitude Enhanced written and interpersonal communication skills Positive, can-do mindset Management experience would be a plus Profile Bachelor or Master’s degree in business administration, accounting, controlling or equivalent Knowledge of: Belgium accounting procedures Belgium fiscal laws mainly direct, indirect taxes and transfer pricing Internal controls methodologies Minimum 5 years of Controlling/Finance/Audit Strong MS Office skills, knowledge of SAP is a plus Fluent in English, French.
