Job Description
Eaton is currently seeking a Corporate Development & Planning Associate to join our team. Since 2019, this team has made 12 acquisition and deployed nearly $7B while simultaneously divesting 4 businesses for nearly $5B. These transactions have reshaped our portfolio and positioned Eaton for higher growth, higher margins, and more consistent earnings. This position is based at our headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio. Relocation is available. Position Overview: Eaton is a power management company made up of over 92,000 employees, doing business in more than 175 countries. The primary function of this position is to actively contribute to Eaton’s corporate development and corporate strategy initiatives. In this role you will: Conducts analysis to understand and frame thinking on key strategic issues to drive strategy for the entire corporation Studies companies / markets / industries and assesses attractiveness to determine areas for acquisition or divestiture and recommends appropriate action Leads industry analysis and acquisition target identification Develops compelling materials to advance and/or advocate our corporate strategy Develops accurate and efficient financial models for valuations, benchmarking, and planning purposes Support presentation of valuation and strategy work to senior leadership Performs detailed valuations on acquisition / divestiture opportunities Leads due diligence efforts across corporate functional and business operating teams Supports contract negotiations Supports transition plan to integration teams When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Top tier MBA strongly preferred 1 year or more of post-MBA work experience in corporate development, corporate strategic planning, consulting, or investment banking 4 years or more of professional work experience Position Criteria Ability to complete complex financial analysis Advanced strategic agility and business acumen Working knowledge of valuation models and methodologies Track record of project leadership skills and experience Well-developed written and verbal communications skills Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
