In the Diagnostic Project Management group within Precision Medicine, Project, Portfolio & Operations, we are accountable for providing project and portfolio management to our Precision Medicine portfolio. Our work ensures successful delivery of diagnostic projects, from initiation to regulatory approval, and to optimise the delivery of precision medicines by defining and championing best practices. Furthermore, we drive continuous improvement processes for providing accurate portfolio information for decision making, business reporting and resource management.

You will also need to coach and collaborate with Information Managers to ensure accurate information is being recorded in our enterprise planning tool (PLANIT).

The core part of this role is to lead complex projects. This will include creating and overseeing project plans, tracking milestones, updating risk logs and building progress reports to track delivery to time, cost and quality. You are expected to consider investment decisions and resourcing when looking into costs and forecast demand. It is likely that you will have multiple projects under your supervision.

Additionally, you will be the driver and facilitator of project activity. This includes team meetings, mitigating actions, process simplification to maximise efficiencies and project reviews which are attended by senior leaders.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BSc in relevant subject (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional project management qualification (e.g. PMP)
  • Significant experience within a scientific project management environment
  • Solid understanding of Project Management techniques, tools and principles
  • Strong organisation and forward-planning skills, with attention to detail
  • Experience of global team-working and effectively communicating with business partners
  • A professional, enthusiastic and proactive approach, with the ability to independently manage a diverse and demanding workload
  • Experience with Microsoft Office/ Outlook, project planning tools and web-based programmes
  • Prior experience in managing and reporting of project information
  • Project management experience within a wide range of different scientific disciplines/pharma environments, including discovery, development, portfolio management, operations and manufacturing can be considered

Preferred Experience

  • High-level understanding and interest in Precision Medicine
  • Experience of using PLANIT to accurately forecast resource and maintain milestones
