ABOUT THE ROLE
Hybrid operations Capability lead will bring extraordinary people leadership skills as well as utilize their strong technical management skills to build and lead a diverse agile team. This is a highly visible team and need to work closely with the senior business leaders, end users & various IT functions. Experience in working in a large scale, matrixed org. structure & should have handled a minimum of 100 resources globally.
Responsible for determining current and future Cloud, Infrastructure & End user service operational needs, oversees the Design to implementation of systems that support the organization's enterprise computing/end user IT environment. Ability to manage a departmental sub-function within a broader IT/Business function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the managed tower and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall IT systems and functions. Should have a flair to engage & enhance customer experience.
Should have technical knowledge on Enterprise IT technologies (Cloud, Wintel/Unix, Virtualization, Database, Backup & Storage, Digital & Devops/AIOPs) and End user technologies (End user devices, Conferencing and collaboration Tools.). Should have wide domain expertise on Automations, Lean & Simplification.
Will be active in the external / internal IT Service Management professional communities engaged with other industry leaders both learning and developing best practice bringing this back into the Org.
Reports directly to Director - Global Operations.
- End-to-end Service accountability of Hybrid IT portfolio.
- Manages staff, Develops, mentors and provides guidance, training and motivation as necessary. Conducts regular one on one and staff meetings. Hires, evaluates and counsels the team. Follows corporate disciplinary procedures per established AZ standards as required. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, provides feedback.
- Provides technical expertise in systems, technical infrastructure, modelling, external interfaces, and other technical areas to Hybrid IT Team which supports multiple IT infra technologies.
- Define and implement operations strategy aimed at efficiency & structure hybrid support model. Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
- Analyse the performance of support functions with Operations such as skill requirements, contingency planning for both resources and technology. Make recommendations for improvement.
- Responsible for managing teams to support and maintain all aspects of AstraZeneca’s Infrastructures that includes OS Platforms, Servers, Cloud, Virtualisation, Database, Middleware, Storage, Backup & Hyperconverged Technologies.
- Responsible for managing teams to support and maintain all aspects of AstraZeneca’s End user function that includes EU devices, Conferencing and collaboration Technologies.
- Work as a process engineering expert by developing efficient ways of working to support the business and ensure we utilise automation and self-service whenever possible, reducing risk and driving performance.
- Develop and retain multi skilled talent. Inspire and motivate employees every day and bring innovation to the IT Operations to support the overall business strategy
- Responsible for the standards and processes for efficient Operations, performance and metrics for the Services Organisation. Maintains effective operations plans, processes and procedures.
- Ensure the global environment is resilient through disciplined Engineering practices. Ensures availability targets are defined and achieved.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with global standards in-line with Industry best practice.
- Work closely with vendors to ensure their products and services support and deliver the respective technology strategy. Keep up to date with industry standard methodology and proactively engage with internal partners
- Responsible for skill development of the organisation and ready for future.
- Foster an environment where innovation can flourish. Champion and build a culturally diverse team, mentor and support the team to develop their careers, collaborate with other organisations to share good practice
- Actively contribute to technical communities undertaking learning pathways to develop key skills.
- Communicates with strategic team on a frequent basis. Provides realistic task and resource requirements for projects
- Plans all activities associated with implementation and maintenance of infrastructure solutions & End user services
- Prepares status reports and keeps management, clients and others informed of project status and any related issues. Develop performance metrics and measurement techniques for network related services
- Has awareness of both End user services, Application and Infrastructure industry directions and trends
- Be ready to take on additional initiatives and responsibilities as they emerge and do everything you can to help the company achieve its larger objectives
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- Technical or Business Degree or proven relevant experience
- Consistent track record in people management and exhibited leadership
- Proven skills and experience handling and controlling large project and programmes.
- Experience managing and leading large premier global teams
- Evidence of shaping innovative solutions that have a major impact within the business area and organisation
- Experience leading in a global organisation where partners and team members are geographically dispersed.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements in Life Sciences & Experience of working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures and guidelines
- Service Delivery / Management experience in a complex / large scale internal and external environment
- Strong and influential relationship management skills with partners, suppliers, colleagues and users in pursuit of delivering high quality services whilst maintaining service targets
- Applied use of ITIL Framework to deliver process improvement with V3 Foundation as a minimum
