Job Description

The Trial Safety Review Centre (TRISARC)  and Centralized Monitoring (CM)  departments are part of Clinical Data & Insight organization within Development Operations.

Both departments contribute to data surveillance in clinical studies be performing data reviews and providing insights from data to other members of global study teams.

Associate Director is accountable for ensuring that key business processes for communication, capacity, recruitment, training, budget, business performance information, leadership team meeting support and quality/compliance are provided and managed successfully across TRISARC and CM teams.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Works with Centralized Monitoring (CM) and Trial Safety Review Center (TRISARC) leadership teams to support implementation of strategic goals for business processes, change management, communication and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Leads specific focus area(s) within key CM and TRISARC focus areas. This may include but is not limited to Leadership Teams support, Functional Training, Capacity, Invoice and PO tracking, Quality, Metrics and Communications 

  • Leads key change management / operations improvement initiatives in CM and TRISARC, including planning and implementation, with some direction from senior personnel. This is likely to include working with cross functional colleagues across Development Operations, TA aligned and other R&D departments

  • Management of LT meetings: coordinating agenda, facilitation, minutes, and process

  • Provides expertise in applied analytic approaches business process, metrics, improvements and strategic workforce planning.

  • Ensures consistent approaches to implementation projects .

  • Manages the FTE and capacity process for function to ensure alignment of portfolio planning, sourcing strategy, resource management and capacity related risk management activities

  • Ensures consistent  communication of key functional activities and announcements via business social networks

  • May develop initiatives for talent management, capability & skills development, recruitment and mentorship.

  • Serves as a delegate for CM and TRISARC heads for specific tasks or activities, as necessary

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Degree(s) in business and/or sciences, or equivalent experience

  • Proven experience in the pharmaceutical/medical/healthcare industry,

  • Ability to understand business strategy and goals

  • Ability to solve problems that involve multiple decision makers, and develop multiple options/recommendations

  • Experience in working with senior managers

  • Proven flexibility, teamwork and analytical skills

  • Good networking skills, ability to interact widely and effectively both within the company (on both an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary basis) and externally

  • Ability to work independently, and remotely, from key customers and stakeholders

  • Project management experience from drug and/or non-drug projects.

  • Proven ability to work with multiple customers and on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build strong relationships

  • Excellent collaboration required – needs the energy to work across global & functional boundaries both internally and externally

  • Excellence in project managing techniques

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Centralized Monitring, TRISARC, Data Management, Programming, Statistics or Information Practice

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: communication, capacity, recruitment, training, budget, business performance information, quality/compliance

  • Agile methodology and application

  • Applied analytic approaches
