JOB SUMMARY The aesthetics market is an exciting, fast growing and dynamic market. Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, (AA) is a fast growing, independent unit within AbbVie. Allergan Aesthetics’ portfolio includes market leading botulinum toxin (Vistabel), a range of premium facial fillers (Juvederm), and a revolutionary medical device for fat reduction (CoolSculpting), as well as a pipeline of further innovative aesthetic products. The portfolio includes prescription only medicines, as well as medical devices and capital equiptment. The associate Director AMI is a strategic role that will bring cohesion to the activities of Sales, Marketing, Regulatory and Medical Affairs, both locally and internationally, through a programme of Medical Education that is designed to improve the application and use of Allergan Aesthetics products to help meet or exceed the sales, profit, market share and growth objectives in Germany. Accountable for the development of longer term, innovative strategies that utilize a range of channels, notably the development of digital platforms on which to reach healthcare providers (HCPs). Initiates and develops strong business relationships with key opinion leaders (KOL’s), HCPs and other relevant stakeholders, whilst working internally with Sales and Marketing Directors and International Strategic Marketing (ISM) to develop programmes of education which maintain / develop existing business and capitalize on new business opportunities. Accountable for the growth, resilience and health of the German organisation as a key member and contributor to the Leadership Team. Delivers responsibilities as Allergan Aesthetics company associate director. The associate Director Marketing will lead a team of 9 direct reports, each aligned to one of the Allergan Aesthetics operating in the Germany, positions are namely: Medical Education Manager Clinical Specialists Digital Manager AMI Coordinator KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Development and Implementation of an Innovative, Strategic Plan of Medical Education Works with Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, Medical Affairs etc. and International Strategic Marketing (ISM), to devise a programme of Medical Education that not only provides Healthcare Providers (HCPs) with the expertise to correctly use Allergan Aesthetics products tailored to the audiences, but does so in a way that aligns with the commercial objectives of the German Leadership Team. Works devising new, more innovative (digital) channels to reach HCPs and other stakeholders, in addition to the existing methods of engagement, which includes conferences and events etc. Creation and adaptation of centrally approved scientific and clinical content for training materials to be used in ‘In Country Educational Workshops’ involving local HCPs. Owns and allocates the AMI budget in Germany to deliver world-class, innovative strategies of Medical Education. AMI Team Management – Acquires & Develops Talent As necessary, recruits, trains, motivates and develops AMI team with particular emphasis on effective communication skills, account management and customer engagement. Ensures development of AMI team keeps pace with business needs. Promotes ownership of and engagement with the company values and behaviours across AMI. Regularly prepares and conducts objective work performance and personal development reviews to evaluate progress and engender growth and development of innovative AMI personnel, and works with HR to ensure appropriate corporate/local programs are in place to effectively support this work. Advancement and Implementation of a Trainer Development Programme Conduct a strategic mapping of in country trainer expertise and interests. Collaborative working with ISM, and in country contacts to identify new trainers. Development of a deployment plan to partner with appropriate trainers for key clinical and scientific projects (including but not limited to podium presentations, training events and the use of print and digital media). Update the development curriculum to offer advancement to our trainers and meet their needs for continuous up-skilling and new learnings Measuring Effectiveness of AMI Programme Ensure accurate and regular measurement of relevant business outputs from the delivery of the AMI Training Programme with presentation to relevant stakeholders as appropriate. Critically reviewing, benchmarking of, and modification of the current format of delivery of the AMI Programme, to ensure the delivery of an innovative, multi-channel, industry leading Medical Education Programme which aligns to the Commercial objectives of Allergan Aesthetics. Role Model and active member of the German Leadership team Accountable for the growth, resilience and health of the organisation as a key member and contributor to the Leadership Team. Shares joint ownership of Talent Management and company succession planning. Jointly accountable for effectiveness of company compliance and governance operation through participation in Compliance meetings.
