Associate Director of Sales

This role reports directly to the General Manager and oversees Reservations, Conference and Events, Sporting groups and all proactive sales activities.

You will lead the hotels drive to achieve greater profitability through identifying and obtaining the correct market mix, as well as provide key and educated contributions to the sales and marketing activity for the hotel.

What you will be doing

  • Participate in the preparation and planning of department/business goals and objectives
  • Lead and direct the development and implementation of the hotels strategic sales plan and initiatives; interacting with clients, directing sales efforts, driving unique food and beverage offerings
  • Manage and oversee key accounts
  • Understand sales strategy and implement account tactics to achieve these strategies
  • Aid in the preparation of proposals and tenders to support the needs of the business 
  • Achieve targets and KPI's set out in the performance criteria
  • Implement quality initiatives which add value to the business and maintain a position of leadership within the team
  • Develop our existing client relationships and bring your innovative approach to source new opportunities across all market segments.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiations skills, ability to nurture existing relationships and attain new ones.
  • Strong stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
  • Exceptional understanding of consumer behaviour and market trends.
  • Strong desire and passion to develop your team members' performance;  providing supervision and professional development, sales evaluations and delivering a culture of recognition and success. 
  • Established experience in sales
  • A highly organised team player with a 'can do' attitude
  • A people person with a competitive spirit
  • Flexibility to travel and attend events 
  • A strong knowledge of the North Queensland market desirable
  • Team management experience
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • The want to succeed and work for a supportive team and company
