Analog Devices is hiring for an Applications Engineer suporting our Precision Amplifiers group based in San Jose, CA.  

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting and resolving product-specific customer issues through bench verification, evaluating application and product operation/limitations issues, and utilizing troubleshoot techniques and debug processes.
  • Evaluating linear or mixed signal board level designs in a lab environment utilizing multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and curve tracers.
  • Developing design-in tools for sales, marketing and customer use.
  • Developing system level solutions utilizing both precision linear signal conditioning products and precision converters including schematic capture, PCB layout and writing evaluation software.
  • Writing technical documentation related to linear or mixed signal ICs in the form of data sheet, application notes and/or articles.
  • Defining new products from an analysis of customer feedback and specifications, competitive market analysis and collaboration with the marketing and design teams.
  • Collaborating with design, product, and marketing engineers during the product development and release stages to enable on-time release of new products through: analyzing characterization data for datasheet specifications, creating application schematics and generating macro models and evaluating them using simulation tools.
  • Authoring and delivering internal technical and training presentations in the form of in-person training presentations or webinars/webcasts.
  • Travelling to and providing on-site representation to key customers to promote new precision linear products, resolve technical issues, and investigate new product concepts.
  • Understanding precision linear applications including but not limited to instrumentation, industrial systems, data acquisitions systems and sensor interfacing.
  • Understanding and application of precision converter architectures and interfacing external signal conditioning components and signal chain elements including operational amplifiers and voltage references.

  

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline such as Electronics Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
  • Travel requirements for this position are limited travel up to 10% of the time.
