Reliability Operations Engineer

 

The role of the Reliability Operations Engineer is to drive continuous improvement activities for Reliability Operations processes and ensure on-time qualification of new products and technologies within a strong team environment.  Ensure that the needs of the constituents of the Reliability Operations services are understood and the appropriate processes are set in place to satisfy those needs; both tactical and strategic.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives within Reliability Operations to reduce lab induced defects, maximize lab efficiency, reduce process costs to customer, and ensure on-time completion of qualification tests; document resulting processes and provide training as necessary

* Take ownership for the successful execution of new product qualification activities as defined by Hardware Engineering and the Product Line customer and as required for on-time product release

* Develop fixture and equipment solutions to enhance Reliability Operations capabilities in support of new products and technology

* Perform functional and performance reliability test debug and validation; create innovative reliability test software and hardware solutions, document and present findings, complete product qualifications, and support released product quality sustaining issues in support of customer returns as required

* Must be able to format, analyze, and reach valid conclusions from data and be able to present process improvement recommendations to the team as required; document and present findings as required

* Support of Lab 6S and Shingo activities

* Provide direct support to the QARB and TRB for qualification information gathering as well as the development and execution of any DOE as required

* Work within cross-functional project teams consisting of representatives from the Product Line, Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing, Reliability Engineering, Failure Analysis, Reliability Hardware Engineering, and RelOps Planning

 

Minimum Qualifications:

* MS degree in EE, ECE, EET, Industrial Engineering or BS degree in EE, ECE, EET, Industrial Engineering with at least 1 to 3 years relevant experience

* Circuits knowledge that includes one or more of the following: analog circuits, RF circuits, Power circuits, signals and systems, ADCs, DACs, optical, high speed serial interfaces, microcontrollers, DSPs

* Familiarity with performing circuit evaluation and characterization using bench test equipment including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators

* Working knowledge of high-level programming language such as LabVIEW, Python, Visual BASIC, HTML, and/or C/C++

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to solve complex problems through design of appropriate experiments and analysis of complex data

* Strong organizational and analytical skills toward capture of aggressive schedule demands

* Strong time management and multi-tasking skills

* Mindset for continuous improvement

* Strong team worker within multi-discipline and multi-cultural environments

* Capable of clear, accurate and timely communication both written and verbal

* Knowledge of statistics and statistical process control

* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications

 

Preferred Qualifications:

* SQL database management

* Knowledge of IC fabrication and process technology

* Familiarity with printed circuit board design and layout

* Exposure to thermodynamics

* Soldering and PCB rework skills
