The opportunity:
This role supports the Finance Business Partner in the business partnering function of AIA NZ. You’ll be a finance specialist and a trusted adviser and will play a proactive role in challenging business unit decisions and spend to drive the right financial prudence in the day to day operations of Projects.
About the role:
Supports the Executive Leadership’s key business units and establish key relations with the Senior Leadership Team of the business units being supported. You’ll seek to understand the drivers of their business unit performance so as to provide insight and analysis to support business decisions and the strategic and financial objectives.
Establish and deliver appropriate insightful business unit reporting on a monthly basis, and analysis to support the financial objectives of the business unit in a proactive manner.
Detailed understanding of the costs of the business units and the drivers of cost for AIA NZ.
Completion of month end reporting requirements and production of respective profit and loss statements for business units.
Production of a Monthly Financial Pack which covers financial results, performance drivers of those results and insightful and actionable commentary – this includes the MMR, MBR, QMR and QBR.
Preparation of Daily and Monthly Sales Reports that are used by the ELT members as well as the leadership team in AIA HK and AU.
Support the ANP and VNB reporting as required by AIA HK and AIA AU from time to time – work closely with the Actuarial team to provide insightful analysis around the same.
Complete the monthly financial reporting processes for each business unit, ensuring the financial results are accurate and supportable for external financial reporting purposes.
Support the annual external audit process.
Preparation of divisional rolling forecasts and annual budgets for each business unit the appropriate providing challenge, support and insight.
Prepare presentations and papers, and facilitate financial discussions with the Head of Business Partnering and the ELT members of the divisions and their teams.
Run Activity Based Costing models to segregate between initial and maintenance expense of business units.
About you:
You’ll ideally have started your CA qualifications.
Excellent working knowledge of ERP – SAP and Finance One Accounting Systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to precisely and clearly document meeting discussions and actions.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including strong financial acumen, reasoning and logic.
The ability to work effectively with management and peers, including having the confidence to raise issues and provide constructive feedback where required.
Strong judgment to make critical decisions and manage outcomes to strict deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work on numerous projects and tasks simultaneously.
Conceptual thinking ability.
Experience influencing peers.
Strong relationship management skills to engage stakeholders to understand and influence business objectives.
