Job Description

The Associate HR Business Partner is responsible for the development of specific business recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies as well as developing new creative recruitment approaches. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the best possible talent will be hired through a partnership with business stakeholders.  By collaborating and consulting with business partners, Associate HRBP’s recommend strategies for identifying and recruiting potential candidates.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supports the relationship between HR and the business by consistently providing a superior level of customer service to each Manager and associate.
  • Live the vision of HR, including providing excellence in personal and team leadership and taking an active role in ensuring the Business Partner model is embedded successfully.
  • Provide input across a range of HR issues (generalist and specific expertise).  Deliver high impact solutions that exceed the needs of the business unit.
  • Stay up to date with external trends and best practices in Talent identification. 
  • Collaboratively support talent management activities for assigned business units to ensure an adequate supply of qualified exempt and non-exempt candidates are developed for each opened, budgeted and approved position.  
  • Support hiring managers with creation of job postings (internal and external as needed), work with hiring manager to gain understanding of the open role, his/her expectations of qualified candidates in order to be able to recommend the right candidates.
  • Extend job offers aligned with internal compensation policy, respecting both market value and internal equity and also understanding the market and candidate’s background.
  • Initiate relocation requests when necessary.   
  • Provide strategic and operational HR advice, coaching, development and feedback to assigned business units. 
  • Role covers a broad spectrum of HR disciplines including associate relations, performance management, policy/process development, career development, individual associate coaching, talent management and change management.
  • Counsel as needed regarding compensation and benefits questions and concerns escalating to Compensation when necessary.
  • Voice to Compensation regarding market trends, average candidate expectation and misalignment between assigned market value and market rate.
  • Actively work on multiple projects in a collaborative team environment with open communication and high expectations for quality.

  • Bachelor’ degree in Business or equivalent professional work experience required (Human Resources Management, preferred).
  • 2 years of prior talent acquisition or recruiting experience including 1 year identifying passive talent.
  • 1 year of talent mining experience.  
  • 1 year of recent Human Resources experience in Compensation, including salary evaluation for all talents within identified frameworks and identification of market trends and competitive pay practices for all student and development programs.
  • Relevant work experience in Associate Relations to form the foundation for future success with additional training and development.
  • Advanced proficiency with social recruiting platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Glassdoor, etc. Deep understanding of creative sourcing strategies to find those diamonds in the rough.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, project driven, environment with competing priorities across multiple key stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Strong interpersonal and consultative skills. Ability to communicate with tact and sensitivity.
  • Must be highly organized and demonstrate discretion with highly confidential information at all times.  
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Familiarity with HR processes and talent acquisition methods preferred.

Preferences:

  • Knowledge of Federal, State and local employment regulations.
  • German language proficiency.
