JOB DESCRIPTION

The Associate Manager, Broadcast Operations/Operational Resiliency will work with the Senior Manager of TOC & Operational Resiliency to oversee, manage, support and develop the requirements and processes needed to have a completely redundant operation between Pico and The Woodlands facilities. This will include drafting and distributing the necessary documentation that will be used in case of emergency situations in either location. This “Mission Critical” position will be responsible for assisting the building and support of a redundant play-out system that will allow Pico Master Control to play-out The Woodlands required media and live events. 

This Associate Manager will also help facilitate and manage special projects throughout the Broadcast Team, including assisting master control and the Live Integration Team. This position will work closely with the Broadcast Management team to drive projects to completion, by managing the people and the requirements necessary to reach deadlines provided by multiple clients. In this role, the manager will assist with setting up timelines and managing the necessary technical workflows that will be used to support these projects. Working with this position will also work closely with management to strategically identify, develop and implement all new solutions and procedures that will be used to streamline processes across all networks.

This Associate Manager will also serve as added management support to the TOC, Broadcast Scheduling Team, Master Control and the Live Integration Team. This includes scheduling, testing, developing and managing processes in the TOC. Frequent interface with The Woodlands DR facility required. The associate manager will help arrange backhaul transmission for FBC, Nat Geo and FX live shows as well as arrange streaming services for all FBC and cable services h

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support a redundant play-out system that will allow Pico Master Control to play-out the Woodlands required media and live events, on a daily basis, and vice-versa.
  • Manage special projects throughout the Broadcast team including Live Integration
  • Assist Senior Manager with the Broadcast team to drive projects to completion, by managing the people and requirements necessary to reach the deadlines provided by the multiple clients.
  • Set-up timelines and technical workflows that will be used to support these projects
  • Work closely with management to strategically identify, develop and implement all new solutions and procedures that will be used to streamline processes across all networks.
  • Serve as added management support to the TOC. This includes scheduling, testing, developing and managing processes in the TOC.
  • Live Event Support both Onsite at Pico & Remote.
  • Occasional travel to support DR site [Woodlands] as needed.
  • Nights, weekend and holiday coverage required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years Broadcast Operations experience
  • Familiar with all phases of the network origination processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication,
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate technical engineering and operational theory to both skilled engineers and laymen.
  • Ability to make quick and decisive determinations for operational procedures, operational contingency and disaster mitigation. These decisions must be made in an ever-changing broadcast environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and have a vision for future trends
  • Leadership skills necessary and ability to identify talent and develop employee’s skills.
  • MS Word/Excel/Outlook experience is needed
