Job title: Associate Marketing Manager, APC Marketing

Line managers: Marketing Manager, Greater China

Location: Beijing

Purpose of the role: This role is responsible for the planning and implementation of marketing activities in Greater China to drive APC revenues to Open Research titles. This role requires strong planning and organizational skills, the ability to deliver marketing campaigns to time and budget, and the ability to analyses results and report on effectiveness of campaigns, as well as the ability to work with local and global colleagues across departments.

Core Responsibilities:

• Understand the needs of the market and collaborate with global, regional and local marketing colleagues to develop and execute marketing plans that drive APC revenues to the strategically important and fast growing Open Research journals.
• Assists in the development and implementation of the customer engagement strategy, plans and structure for the portfolio with a clear customer centric approach

• Contributes to the overall marketing plan across all marketing channels including the review of all activity against KPIs; continuously striving to build marketing best practices
• Develops brand marketing activities across all Springer Nature portfolios
• Tracks and analyzes marketing efforts to assess effectiveness; reports on activity results providing metrics/data and lessons learned
• Collaborates and communicates effectively with editorial teams to identify promotional opportunities
• Helps coordinate and attends exhibits at select conferences
• Keeps abreast of industry trends, analyses markets, market segments and competitor activities to generate campaign ideas based on new opportunities and increase the effectiveness and ROI of own marketing activities
• Proactively provides management with updates on marketing activities, ROI and budget
• Executes other special projects and duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications:

• Master Degree in Biology and medicine related

• Well versed in digital marketing and experienced in using a variety of marketing technology and systems, e.g. marketing automation, social media posting and monitoring, analytics, media booking etc.

• Willingness to travel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English
• Strong analytical and decision making skills
• Understanding of target markets and ability to develop innovative strategies to reach them
• Strong ability to self-organize, prioritize, multitask, and work under pressure
• Be willing to facilitate change and solve problems quickly
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Awareness of industry trends and developments that target authors, readers and scientific communities
