Applications are invited for a faculty position at the level of Associate/ Assistant Professor or Research Associate/Assistant Professor in the area of language and literacy. The department is particularly keen to hire a candidate whose research interests focus on reading across different languages and orthographies and who has substantial expertise using state-of-the-art eye-tracking measures to investigate reading processes. Candidates who also have experience studying populations with reading difficulties (e.g., dyslexia, deafness, etc.) are especially welcome.

Applicants for the position of Associate Professor/ Research Associate Professor should have a record of excellent scholarship in language cognition as evidenced by a thematic body of publications in leading journals. Applicants for the position of Assistant Professor/ Research Assistant Professor should have a clear evidence of research promise, commensurate with a number of post-PhD years.

The appointee will (a) teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses; (b) supervise students’ projects and theses; and (c) assist in administrative duties.

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for three years initially commencing in August 2019, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to a longer-term appointment or substantiation (not applicable to Research Associate Professor / Research Assistant Professor).
