Associate Professor

Arts Administration and Management

(Post Ref.: 20/215/S)

The University is seeking to hire a full-time Associate Professor in Arts Administration and Management. Candidates should have (1) good track record in curriculum design for and teaching of arts administration and management programme (preferably at the postgraduate level); (2) good track record in publication and successful grant application in the relevant areas; (3) knowledge of local and regional sectors of cultural and creative industry; and (4) knowledge of "arts tech” field, encompassing digital conveyancing of arts education.

 

The appointee will join the School of Graduate Studies (https://www.ln.edu.hk/sgs/) and the Faculty of Arts (https://www.ln.edu.hk/arts/) and will be expected to publish high-quality research, teaching courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and participate in academic and professional activities. The appointee is also expected to apply for external funding to support research endeavors. The appointee would also collaborate with the Faculty of Business (https://www.ln.edu.hk/fb/) on relevant, inter-disciplinary research and teaching matters.

General Requirements

Candidates should have a PhD degree in arts administration/management or cultural policy plus at least five years of relevant experience and a sound track record in research and scholarly activities.

The appointee is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and services to the Department, the University community, and to engage actively in quality research and publication.

Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee.

Appointment will normally be made on an initial contract of three years, which, subject to review and mutual agreement, may normally lead to longer-term appointment with possibility of consideration for substantiation.
