Role Purpose / Description
Overview
• The department within which the role is based in HSBC, Global Banking and Markets IT (GBM IT)
- A PM is required with strong analytic and communication skills to join HSBC in Guangzhou to work as part of the Central Programme team
- The role requires the candidate to be a subject matter expert in HSBC systems and Business processes
- The Programme is part of the HSBC Conduct Programme to deliver a Payments FX solution to enable increased transparency and consistency across systems, countries and business lines
- The Candidate will be required to work with teams in different time zones and regions
- The programme works across many different business areas (out of Global Markets)
- Phase one of the programme is due to end in 2020 with subsequent phases planned after
Purpose of the Job:
• To work as part of a Central Programme Technology team which is responsible for the delivery of all technology changes (Front to Back in the programme
The Associate Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Analysis coordination front to back, across technology and business teams across the Payment FX Conduct programme
- Shaping complex business problems across different parts of the architecture
- Capturing business & functional requirements in key parts of the strategic solution through liaising with key business users and stakeholders and producing Business & Functional Specifications.
- Designing appropriate and innovative solutions to meet the business requirements, leveraging and enhancing existing capabilities where possible (but will likely to be a combination of existing applications, new build and use of external vendors)
- Liaising with the other BAs and project managers on the team to drive out appropriate phasing of the delivery of the desired solution
- Liaising with external vendors and market participants (e.g. the clearing houses or Calypso) to assess, select and deploy appropriate solutions
- Working closely with business leads and project managers across the programme and all downstream systems to implement and test the deliveries made against the functional specifications.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
- Experience of large scale change initiatives encompassing several discrete functional areas (Required)
- Experience of the investment banking environment (Required)
- Experience of FX Pricing and Payment flows (Desirable)
- Experience of structured project methodology framework (Required)
- Business knowledge of FX Pricing and Payment flows (Desirable)
- Knowledge of any of the following operational areas and/or associated IT groups: FX Rates Processing / Margin Processing
