Job summary

The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for an Associate Quality Engineer to join us in Beijing, China. In this role, you will focus on testing Red Hat Virtualization. You'll create test plans, research new features, carry out test cases, design new automated and manual tests, develop frameworks to ease test development and automation to speed up implementation, and participate in product meetings with a QE perspective. As Associate Quality Engineer, you will also perform acceptance, function, regression, integration, and longevity testing on our offerings, supervising successful testing in a timely manner. You'll need to have a passion for testing, coding, and examining how things work internally.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Develop automation framework and scripts with Python for automation testing and implementation
  • Participate in the test and product planning processes
  • Carry out manual tests and deliver clear status for testing areas in a timely manner
  • Document and advocate the resolution of new bugs with developers and communicate the impact on customers to developers and support team
  • Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies
  • Communicate with other globally distributed quality engineers and developers working on Red Hat Virtualization offerings
  • Work in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of professional experience or master's degree with 1+ years of professional experience
  • Ability to work with a team and use available resources to create innovative solutions
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of operating system components, especially kernel, KVM, and oVirt
  • Expertise designing, developing, and maintaining test environments and automated test suites
  • Motivated with the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines
  • Experience with software testing; development experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Professional experience with virtualization is a plus
  • Professional experience with SVVP is a plus
