Our location in Irvine, CA , Santa Clara, CA or Temecula, CA currently has an opportunity for an Associate R&D Engineer.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Works under direct supervision developing engineering product designs or processes (which may include assembly, test, fixtures, tooling and/or software). Performs engineering tests in support of design qualification. Documents test procedures and results in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Design products and/or processes under direct supervision of more senior engineer or manager.
- Performs tests per written protocols and accurately records results in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Generates engineering documentation of design output.
- Responsible for performing assignments in accordance with Abbott standards.
- Works under direct supervision.
- Reports to a more senior engineer or manager.
- Contact is primarily within department.
- Typically works on small assignments involving a single engineering discipline (eg. mechanical, electrical, software).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Minimum Education:
Bachelors degree plus 0-2 years of related work experience with a basic understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Minimum Experience / Training Required:
Emerging skills in utilizing computer design tools (as applicable).
Ability to use simple engineering test equipment (as applicable).
Ability to work in a team environment.
Experience or education in the following: Mechanical Engineer, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering.
Solidworks Software, a plus
