Job Description
DLA Piper's Real Estate Practice offers a full range of services in real estate sector in areas including acquisition and disposals, joint ventures, operations (including leasing and asset management), financing, tax, fund formation and investment. We handle all asset classes of real estate transactions both in Asia and across the globe..
Our clients include major institutional investors, property funds, financing banks, property developers and institutional real estate occupants. Our approach is to secure the best outcome from each transaction to achieve our clients' property- related goals in a timely and effective manner.
We are currently looking for a mid-level Associate or senior level Associate to join our busy team in Shanghai. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to gain experience across a broad range of transactions working with a wide range of clients across the globe.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working with a range of clients which include institutional investors, property funds, financing banks, property developers and institutional real estate occupants.
- Providing legal support for the following aspects of real estate transactions which include acquisition and disposals, joint ventures, operations (including leasing and asset management) and financing.
- Providing tailored advice to clients' situations.
- Preparing and reviewing contracts and other legal documents.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- 4 - 6 years' experience
- Previous exposure to real estate and financing
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law from a leading University
- Excellent communication and drafting skills in English and Mandarin is essential
- Proven hands-on experience of communication, drafting and negotiating business agreements
- Demonstrate prioritisation skills and have the ability to multi-task
- Strong technical transactional corporate and/or finance associates who have had exposure to real estate transactions will be considered
- Service minded, organised and able to meet deadlines
- Positive mentality with a "can do" attitude.
- Demonstrate a desire to achieve excellence
