The Comparative Biology and Safety Sciences (CBSS) group is seeking a Scientist to independently perform cardiovascular disease related safety assessment and mechanistic studies. The Scientist will work in CBSS organization based in Shanghai and collaborate closely with research scientists within the group and with multi-functional teams.
The successful candidate is expected to make scientific laboratory-based contributions to the research goals of the department, present their results in both internal and external forums, and participate in the writing of manuscripts for publication. Specific responsibilities include providing biomarker development strategy, performing genomic and proteomic biomarker assay development, and management of timelines, risks and quality plans.
Qualifications
- Fresh PhD degree in molecular biology, bioinformatics or related field, Or Master’s degree & 1-2 years of scientific experience.
- Deep understanding animal studies, especially cardiovascular disease related models.
- A strong background with preclinical biomarker discovery and validation.
- Hands-on experiences in molecular biology techniques (DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, ELISA, etc.) and cell culture are required.
- Hands-on experiences in biomarker related approaches (FACS, Luminex and MSD platforms, etc), and Omics based technologies, bioinformatics tools and statistical analysis are preferred.
- Execute scientific research under general supervision and maintain high level of scientific expertise through review of literature and other sources.
- Strong verbal and written English skills.
- Be self-motivated, creative, and collaborative.
